Wolmer’s ease into quarter-finals

Wolmer's Boys' recorded their sixth win of the season, a comfortable 3-0 victory over host Ascot in their ISSA/WATA Manning Cup Zone E football match on Thursday.

Victory moved the Jerome Waite-coached Wolmer's to 18 points.

In the same zone, former champions Mona High defeated Calabar High 2-1, and lead the zone with maximum 30 points from 10 outings.

Calabar, who had lost their first-round match against Mona, are second with 24 points.

Wolmer's, Mona and Calabar are all through to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Inn Zone C, Camperdown High recorded a big 4-1 win over Vauxhall High in their encounter at Alpha Boys' Home, while the other game in the group between host Jamaica College and St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) was rained out.

The win moved Camperdown to 15 points, eight behind the zone's joint leaders JC and STATHS who are already through to the quarter-finals.
