Fast-rising dancehall artiste Nhance has up-and-coming entertainer Jamarii on a new song they believe will become a motivational anthem for fans worldwide.

The single, Make It, is about surviving the "rough days" without being shaken, according to Zachary Isaacs, of Q4 Records, one of the producers of the song.

Grung Troops Musiq and Gulf Entertainment are the other producers.

The idea for the catchy track emerged during a casual conversation between the two upcoming deejays as they sat outside a recording studio in St Andrew, Isaacs told THE STAR during a recent interview.

"They happened to be at the studio and were having a conversation about what it means to stay motivated despite setbacks and people trying to tear you down. They decided on the spot to put that message into a song," he said.

"It wasn't something planned. Both artistes already knew each other, but had not yet collaborated on any music."

Jamarii, whose given name is Jamarley Pusey, said the inspiration for the song came from his own life journey and realising that "my success is solely in my hands and nobody else's".

"No matter how hard it gets or how people try to deter me, it's about [your] mind set," he told THE STAR.

The entertainer said, through the song, he wanted people to know that anything is possible if they work hard and put their mind to it.

"Rough days and failure are part of the journey; it builds you and prepares you for what is to come. Just stay focused and believe in yourself, despite what other people think."

Nhance, whose given name is Kenneil Lawrence, agreed, saying Make It is about ambition and resilience and should serve as motivation for anyone chasing their dreams despite long odds.

"I wanted this track to inspire listeners to believe in themselves and keep pushing, no matter where they are starting from. Make It is motivation in musical form," he told THE STAR.

Nhance is the son of Gaza Sheba, who was also a dancehall artiste formerly associated with the now disbanded Portmore Empire, the musical alliance that was established by international dancehall star Vybz kartel in the 2000s.

He is steadily gaining momentum with impactful tracks like Tables Turn Life and Mind Set.

Jamarii is known for songs such as Chatty Chatty, Wicked Gyal and Bury Mi Heart.
